I haven't tracked my savings as planned. But, here are my savings for today. Being an EVIC member is definitely saving me money. Tide laundry detergent, 100oz regulary $15.99 at Harris Teeter. $4.00 off on their VIC specials and an extra $2.22 of with EVIC. I had a buy one detergent greater than 75oz and get a free tide item. I chose Tide Duo Pac stain remover, $6.99. Thats a savings of $13.22! Newman salad dressing, $1.2o off, Kashi cereal $2.56 off and I bought two boxes, and beef bbq, $4.00 off. A savings of $10.32! Edys ice-cream, $1.00 coupon. That's a grand total of $24.54. What I love about this is that I spent $21.03 and saved $24.54! Saving more than I spend is my kinda way of shopping.

Changing to real blogging

Hello Readers

Up to now, I've used this blog to let you know about any specials I am aware of. From now on, I will be using it as a blog, logging my daily savings. I think this will be more interesting and teach newcomers to coupons and saving how it's done!

I will start with my last big save. We went to the circus yesterday. I used the coupon from the News and Observer site and bought a set of 4 tickets for $40. These tickets usually cost $23 each, so that's a saving of $52. Also, as we were in the area a few weeks ago, I went to the RBC center and bought the tickets in person. This saved me the convenience fee of $4.75 per ticket! That's another $19. We had a big brunch before heading out to see the show. I had a $10 coupon for the restaurant, which cost me 80c at www.restuarant.com. That saved us $9.20 (we won't bother with the savings on the tax!) I bought cotton candy for our youngest daughter at the store for $1, and she ate this on the way to the circus. By the time we arrived, she was full of both food and candy and so I saved on buying the exorbitantly priced junk food and snacks. Saved at least another $10. A net savings of $9, if I based it on kiddie food and snacks only. There is still food and snacks for the rest of us, but since that is speculation, I'll just stick to the facts! So in total, I saved $89.20 for yesterday's outing!

Today I bought Gain laundry detergent (50 oz) from Harris teeter, normal price $6.59. I am an E-Vic member, so my price is $2.99 and I had a 50c coupon, which Harris Teeter doubles. That's a saving of $4.60 on just the one item. To sign up to be an E-Vic member, go to www.harristeeter.com. You'll get weekly emails informing you of the specials. Also, E-Vic members get certain items discounted just for them. These individually tailored specials print out on your Harris Teeter receipt, once you have made a purchase.

Happy Saving!
