News and Observer Zone rewards

If you subscribe to the News and Observer at all, remember to sign up for their rewards program, otherwise known as 'The Zone'. There are competitions for tickets to local productions, (Carolina Theatre or DPAC) buy-one-get-one coupons for shows and restaurants (NC Zoo or UNC Morehead Planetarium) and sometimes great freebies! We've watched several advanced screennings with free passes. A caveat on this one though, you do have to pick the passes up from their offices in Raleigh. All other coupons, you simply print and use.

Go to http://www.newsobserver.com and click on N&O Zone. Soon you could be saving on your Hurricanes or comedy club tickets!

Before making an online purchase, always look for a coupon code. Sometimes, there is a code for a discount, other times it's cheaper or free shipping. To find these coupon codes, you can enter "company name coupons" into a search engine and see what pops up. The two sites I use most are: http://printable-coupons.blogspot.com/
and www.retailmenot.com.

Also, if you don't have a printed coupon for a store product, you can do the same. Often, manufacturers have coupons on their websites, for example, smartbalance, naturemade or Ulta.

Triangle restaurant week

The triangle is celebrating restaurant week from January 24 - 30, 2011. Their slogan is: "One appetizer, one entree, one dessert, one week"! Lunch is $15 and dinner is $25 per person. No tickets needed, just go to http://trirestaurantweek.com/, to make a reservation to guarantee a table. These are great prices for the featured restaurants.

If you have not joined a freecycle group yet, you're missing out on a great opportunity to pass along your unwanted items and/or get great items you want for free! You simply post the item that's up for grabs or your wanted item. Someone responds and viola!

The rules are: double coupons with a face value up to and including $1.98. A $1.50 coupon will be worth $3!; Limit 20 coupons per day; Limit 3 like coupons per transaction, 2like printables; Some stores will NOT allow doubles on coupons that state “Do Not Double” - I know the Holly Springs store has this rule; Can only use 1 coupon for B1G1 items (this is seems to differ from store to store); FREE and super cheap items go fast so shop early!
